This is a reference to the first program most people write when learning to code or starting with a new programming language. It is one of the most basic programs a person can write, and not only as a first step for beginners, but also as a confirmation that the development environment is set up correctly. Seconds later, when she commands AIA to turn on the lights, AIA somehow plugs back in and obeys.. There is a small scene in the closing credits..

Directed by Chris Weitz and starring a strong cast including John Cho, Katherine Waterstone, Lukita Maxwell and Keith Carredine, AI makes life easier for the family, and then the AI starts to get very real.
Deeply fake, like things
Jump scares, it really doesn’t need to be. The film was at its best when dealing with technology that already existed. That’s what made it more interesting. I think it’s forgotten because there’s a longer version of this movie out there, things are just glossed over and there’s a bigger plot.
It’s really short too
It started at 14:40 and by 15:55 I was out of the cinema, there were 7 other people in my screening.
