There is such a category of developers from which you can expect anything. They are equally capable of a hit, amazing imagination, soul and wallet, and a deafening failure. We are talking about truly «fat» gaming companies, whales of industry. These giants have acquired by daughter enterprises over time, feed, warm and absorb a couple of small, invisible copyright groups, and begin active publishing activities. And then suddenly – bam! – Wake up one fine morning and find that they are Ubisoft.

Today we will talk about the «daughter» of the great and terrible Ubisoft – About the Montreal branch of the company, the very one thanks to which they now live and hello Splinter Cell, Watch_dogs, Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and other AAA-class projects. Strictly speaking, the idea of ​​mixing these two genres in itself is not that very new

The solution to the problem turned out to be simple and obvious: it was enough to raise all the locks into the air using magic so that the issue of lack of space on land no longer rises. But another snag arose: from somewhere it was necessary to take funds for further development in the literal sense of the word of possessions divorced from the earthly reality.

Castles of neighbors, successfully located nearby, attracted greedy abundance to themselves. Very soon raids and robberies were almost the main occupation of the population. Naturally, in parallel with the growth of the art of thieves, the number of tricks grew, with the help of which the owners of flying palaces tried to protect their property from plunder. Evil creatures-guards and deadly traps became almost the main elements of the interior design, designed to at least somehow restrain the Hordes of the hunting until the profit of the «raiders».

We begin our way to abundance with the purchase of the castle from the golden -haired businessman Cornelius, as charming as the caustic. In the future, we have to constantly improve our flying “estate”, equipping it with all new and new sources of painful death for heroes who will like to look at us at the gleam of gold.

Of course, we will also have our own hero. I can immediately purchase two representatives of the proposed livestock-a magician-a magician and tear off only for real money (which will probably sadden the players who touched the beta test, because before the wizard could also be taken for free). Knight and archer are available for hiring without additional financial investments. But only one of them will still have to choose: additional heroes will be given to us only for the so -called “tsatski” – in -game currency, which can be bought for quite real dollars. Note that the exchange rate is quite bad and designed, apparently, for Americans or Europeans, for whom twenty bucks are pocket money, and not a weighty part of the monthly salary.

Among the furniture offered for installation in the castle, there are chests of drawers, bags, barrels. There is no bath. So it turns out from our soldiers of the archers of the stench.

Despite the “hybrid”, the gameplay does not seem difficult or bulky at all. Our valiant hero attacks neighboring castles, approximately corresponding to the level of his «pumping». Or not corresponding: beating babies here is not only held in high esteem, but even allows you to get a specific achievement.

All sorts of funny monsters like aggressive chickens, chained in the pads of zombies, large cyclops or vampires, which are called “aunt-vamp” are waiting for the robber. Each guard has its own combat feature, so you will not have to miss the right -winged castle in a competently. Especially considering that in addition to monsters, the owners equip their money with traps. Spinning guns, toothy traps under the floor slabs, casting springs-in general, arsenal, which is suspiciously similar to the above Orcs Must Die! Only instead of orc crowds – one, but an impudent adventure.

If we manage to defeat everyone, survive and get to the treasury of the stingy “abundant” on the first attempt, we receive not only part of the gold and beryls of the owner as a reward, but also a much more valuable thing – the so -called “crown”. Unlike other resources necessary for the purchase of the necessary stuff, the crown is not used in trade and are a clean, distilled and quantitatively expressed ChSV. The more times we are “crowned” – the higher we can rise in the player rating.

However, “filling the crown” is not as easy as it might seem. For every unsuccessful robbery attempt, we lose them – and we lose more than we could win in case of victory. So, there can be no question of any thorough study of a complex castle with the development of the correct tactics somewhere in the fifth race: you need to navigate the terrain instantly, the first time. This introduces a certain element of surprise and even hardcore to the game – as the number of traps in the locks grows. If at first it seems that raids should get bored very quickly, then it becomes clear from the seventh-eight-eight: then it will only become more interesting.

Build-protect

Raids on neighboring grounds are not the only way to obtain and loss of crowns. Other players invade our castle in the same way as we ourselves burst into other people’s possessions. If the enemy hero managed to defeat our monsters, go around the traps and get to the treasury alive, the crown is taken away from us. Together with gold and beryls, of course. But if our defenders hold the perimeter, and the enemy hero dies, the desired rating is already issued to us. At the same time, the property remains in inviolability. Each “raid”, committed during our absence in the game, is recorded on the video. So then we can lose the record, analyze weaknesses and improve defense. Or just gloat, watching how a stranger hero is panting and dying, trying to break through our fortifications.

There is, however, and nuance. Before launching other players into the castle, we must test it without fail after each update. That is, run on your own, making sure that the exhibited cordons are generally overcoming. Could not defeat their own defenders? So, the rest will not fight with them either: the “guests” will be shown the old version of the castle, to the improvements that made it impenetrable.

Incidentally, each such flying dungeon can be evaluated after passing, having appropriated a certain rating and leaving a verbal comment on any degree of trollness.

Growing, firmly

Katavasia with robberies would be useless if it were not for a constant “pumping” – both the hero and the castle. The higher -level our abode becomes, the more all sorts of whistles and noise we can add. By the way, it is not only about guards and traps, but also about workshops that allow you to independently create potions and weapons for the hero. There is even a «corner of an obmolar», thanks to which we have the opportunity to rivet terrible creatures to protect our treasures. Most of these guards can be purchased in a store from the same Cornelius, but there are also exclusive offers. In addition, the number of monsters available for purchase is strictly limited by the level – even “tsatsk” will not help us overcome this border. But the «corner of the Humor» – will help. If only the resources for production were enough.

This is where the loophole for the Pay-to-Win strategy was left, because the materials for the construction of new guards are just bought for real money. No, in theory, all these eyes, tails and other spare parts can be selected in the process of the next robbery, but it is clear that the investment of real dollars will give the rich and non -propelled players the advantage.

But what about our hero? He also gains experience in battles, getting more and more skills as “pumping”. Note that to assign on the “hot” keys and, accordingly, only four abilities can be used at the next raid. This is pain. Just pain, because we have no idea in advance which arsenal of defensive structures and soldiers used another player when creating a castle! Leaving behind the side of some ability to temporarily neutralize traps for the sake of a more interesting at first glance attacking skill, then you can then dare all elbows.

Mouse insidiousness

In general, all this would be simply amazing if not for a couple of details.

Do not perceive The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot like MMO, allowing you to get lost in the drawn world and forget about real life for clocks, days and years. This is a cheerful and notorious activity that you can indulge from time to time to prevent your brains. We went in the evening, plundered a couple of castles, improved their mansions – and closed the game until the next evening, when it will be possible to see who and how successfully I visited us. And no complaints about the championship in the ranking, of course: the leading places will still take “Donaters”.
